In the wake of the lockdowns and with continuing pandemic uncertainty, CARAS continues to need extra financial support. As a result, we are aiming for our largest ever target. We have already secured £10,000 from a funder and from wonderful CARAS supporters who have already pledged to double your donations. This is an amazing start, and we know your help we can reach this huge target!
Last year our appeal raised funds for targeted activities for newly arrived asylum-seekers living in emergency accommodation. This year, our focus is on casework funding our two full-time caseworkers to reach over 350 people each year. Our casework sees amazingly dramatic results – reuniting families, supporting people out of destitution or homelessness, connecting them to community activities, ensuring that people’s basic rights are respected, and entitlements accessed.
We have just one week to raise £10,000 in donations in order to unlock all those match funds. We benefit from enormous levels of support and year after year feel grateful for all of our staff, volunteers, trustees, supporters, donors and the people of refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds that help us grow and thrive.
